NAPA deep within my heart

Place: Napa Valley, CA

NAPA deep within my heart. 🍷🏞❤

Having owned a Car Wash business in South America for several years, I had brought with me to California some basic tools that would allow me to offer car detailing services in order to pay for my daily expenses and for the airline tickets of my two mothers who had originally both agreed to meet me at the US-Mexico border after 8 years of not being able to see each other in person.

When I arrived in San Francisco I had exactly -$41.67 in my bank account and $125 in my pocket. I spent my first night sleeping at the airport not really knowing what the following day would unfold.

The next morning as proof that God is great, I was able to rent a vehicle on a day to day basis despite having a negative balance in my debit card at the time of the rental which has been allowing me to visit many cities throughout the State.

After a few hours cruising around San Francisco, I was guided to visit Napa Valley, located north of California, a place known for having some of the best wine in the world.

I spent the following days in Napa visiting local churches, auto shops and talking to random people offering my car detailing services during the day and sleeping in my rental car at night.

As usual, I was blessed to have the opportunity of meeting amazing people throughout my entire stay. On day two, I was kindly invited by someone to come eat at a local shelter that served breakfast and lunch to the homeless who despite me being an outsider were always very kind towards me and never judged the very misleading appearance of not having the need to be there.

A day after my arrival, I was given the opportunity to work for four days at a local family owned auto shop detailing cars and start putting together the money needed to reach my goal. On my last day before leaving Napa to continue my Spiritual Journey, the shop owners kindly invited me to come stay at their home and take a much needed hot shower. I must say that never have I been welcomed into a home and treated with so much love and kindness in my entire life. I was offered an amazing homemade meal, I washed my clothes, and was given many gifts including a couple bottles of one of the best wines I have ever tasted in my life.

Sometime last week I received a message from one of my two mothers declining from making the trip to Mexico due to reasons that I will not disclose. Despite the sudden and unexpected decision, I continued working to put together the amount needed to still bring my other mother and fulfill her dream.

God blessed me everyday and I was able to secure and purchase a non-refundable airline ticket for December 16th, thanks to the help of a very special person in Lima, who agreed to purchase the ticket using her credit card while I still worked to complete the full amount and transfer the money back to her within this week.

Unfortunately, this past weekend upon giving my other mother the “great news”, I was told that the trip was too sudden and that it would have been better if I would have done it at a later time.

As disappointed as I may be, If there is one thing that I’ve learned in life is to accept and to never force anyone to act against their free will.

I will spend my following days in California until my “Graduation Ceremony” continuing working and offering my services so that I can still pay for the lost airline ticket and to be able to keep on paying for my rental vehicle.

Despite not being able to fulfill the altruistic desire to bring joy and happiness into the lives of both of my beloved mothers, I am thankful and grateful to God for having listened to my prayers and for allowing me everyday to work towards reaching the very ambitious financial goal that I had set for myself.

Needless to say, I respect both of my mothers last minute decisions with the full understanding that it was not meant to be and that one must always accept God’s will.
